Qonk is a free game. This means that the source code is available to be studied, modified, and distributed. Most projects look for help with testing, documentation, graphics, etc., as well. |
Qonk is a simple real-time space conquering game. It is written in C++ and uses the SDL library. It is licensed under the GPL v2.[1] The latest release is version 0.3.1 released on September 14, 2007.[2]
Gameplay[edit]
Players start a Qonk game with one planet with a few ships in its orbit. The aim of the game is to invade all enemy planets and moons in the solar system.
Time is the only resource, player's planets/moons create space ships in certain intervals. Those ships are used to invade enemy and neutral satellites (non-enemy planets/moons are defended by ships but do not reproduce their defenses.) The combat system is simple: when two enemy ships meet, both are destroyed. This means that planets and moons must be stripped of all ships in orbit, before they can be invaded.
