Spam problems

I dunno what you think of this, but I reckon you should give User:RB0 powers todelete pages, as with all thespam, then surely instead of adding cat articles flagged for spam he could delete it?

Kiba, I think the amount of non-registered contributions is THAT low and the spam is THAT annoying, that it makes sense to prohibit non-registered users to edit pages (at least prohibit to create new pages) --Qubodup 14:47, 30 December 2007 (CET)

Did you consider http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:ConfirmEdit ? You can make it ask a text-based captcha (e.g. who wrote the GPL) with a regexp answer. It worked pretty well everywhere I installed it.Beuc 17:54, 9 August 2011 (UTC)

I would set up a separate wiki for that. It wouldn't be dependent on the English Libregamewiki for its content though. There may be original articles in that language that is not yet found in English and vice versa. Swamped in spam

Hi there! Copy/pasting this message to all admins here. I was recently made an admin around here and was mostly deleting and blocking. But now the volume is in hundreds daily, so it's no longer doable. We must urgently change something or even sadly lock up this wiki or it will very soon became an unusable spam gallery.
