Hi Kiba. Email confirmation doesn't seem to be working here. Please can you email me at angela@wikia.com. I'd like to talk to you about whether you'd like this wiki to be hosted by Wikia. As well as being free, there are lots of lots of reasons to move to Wikia. Angela 11:41, 15 August 2007 (EEST)

Sorry. What do you mean 'this is not wikipedia'? Can't you install the features? --[[User:Qubodup|Qubodup 01:07, 24 August 2007 (CEST)
- This is MediaWiki softwares I am running. Wikipeda is an encyclopedia.--Kiba 01:11, 24 August 2007 (CEST)
- haha lol, I'm no post hunter that you can believe :D - Qubodup 01:40, 24 Aug 2007 (CEST)
- PS: Yeah, I know, but wikipedia uses the media wiki, so you should have the same functions avaliable? - Qubodup 01:40, 24 Aug 2007 (CEST)
- Many. But they run practically bleeding edge softwares.--Kiba 01:47, 24 August 2007 (CEST)
- bleeding edge softwares? What do you mean? Is it impossible for you to include the functions I asked about? (or are you unwilling to include them - was I not specific enough in explaining them?) --Qubodup 01:53, 24 August 2007 (CEST)
- Some fixes you should do: The text below the text entry field mentiones the fdl but not the cc-a! In my preferences/user profile there is a '*real name' at the bottom, but nothing it refers to--Qubodup 01:56, 24 August 2007 (CEST)
- What I meant is that they run softwares that is not ready for use. You know..a version or two ahead of everyone else. They're basically running alpha softwares all the time. Yes I am well aware of the edit template issue. I can install extensions though.--Kiba 02:05, 24 August 2007 (CEST)
- The lists look better now (although the multi-column design somehow always confuses me) and you're right, I dislike red links :) --Qubodup 02:48, 24 August 2007 (CEST)
- I guess it's time to go sleep, I confused the game list with the game category *headshaking* --Qubodup 02:53, 24 August 2007 (CEST)
- Are you talking about the TOC I try to make? If yes, I'll try to edit the original toc. --Qubodup 03:24, 25 August 2007 (CEST)
- Please read http://libregamewiki.cyanox.nl/Talk:List_of_Developers --Qubodup 04:18, 25 August 2007 (CEST)
- Can you change the footer ( Contents are available under GNU Free Documentation License 1.2. It is also available under the Creative Common Attribution 3.0 Unported beginning August 13, 2007 3:58 Eastern Time. You can see the site's creative common license at http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/ ) to "Contents are available under GNU Free Documentation License 1.2. It is also available under the Creative Common Attribution 3.0 Unported beginning August 13, 2007 3:58 Eastern Time." where "Creative Common Attribution 3.0 Unporte" is a link? --Qubodup 16:57, 25 August 2007 (CEST)
- I tried to make the CC one a link but I gave up on that. MediaWiki doesn't support that. I will have to hack MediaWiki to do what it like but I feel more like working on the contents of this wiki.--Kiba 17:02, 25 August 2007 (CEST)

Mascot[edit]
Do you have an idea for a logo? I was thinking of an joystick with white wings. ( game + freedom as in dove )--Qubodup 19:06, 25 August 2007 (CEST)
- I was thinking of a GNU mascot playing games...Although your's is probably a better idea.--Kiba 19:19, 25 August 2007 (CEST)
TalkAgain[edit]
Thanks! You're welcome. This is how I see it at the moment: We're gathering information nobody gathered before. By this I don't mean the games, engine or library section, these are of second interest for me. But I find it fascinating that we could reveal who develops what and what they do. lol I guess I'm in a stalker phase :) Also it's cool to build something, knowing it could start evolving on its own anytime soon (meaning others joining in and expanding) --Qubodup 00:46, 26 August 2007 (CEST)

Backing up[edit]
hey, kiba first: when you write in the NEWS you should post your name with link to userpage behind the news. Also: Did you already make backups? Do you know how to? --Qubodup 19:42, 26 August 2007 (CEST)
- No, I hasn't made any backups. How often do you want me to do backup? At this rate, we need to make a backup everyday.--Kiba 19:44, 26 August 2007 (CEST)
- Well, no less than 1 weekly (old ones can be deleted, though I'd always keep five of them) In this (sensible?) starting phase you realy should make backups daily, or every 10 articles maybe. I hope you understand why I am so nervous about it, you remember the freeforums going down? Also it's worst when you loose at the beginning, as it completely demotivates! --Qubodup 19:50, 26 August 2007 (CEST)
- I see. (I am attempting to backup) I need to backup my mediawiki installation. It would be dishearting to lose all the cool extensions I just installed.--Kiba 20:04, 26 August 2007 (CEST)

Ads[edit]
I have a disturbing problem with the ads, when I open a page, first there is no ad and I start reading, then the ad 'pops up' (not as a pop up) and the text beginning is now below where my eyes are, this is very disturbing. Can you place a box arround the ads which is at constant height plz? like <div height="140px">THE JAVASCRIPT PROJECTWONDERFULL PROBABLY GAVE YOU </div> You would have to play around with the number though to be sure. --Qubodup 01:14, 27 August 2007 (CEST)
- I have no idea what is the problem with the ads. Probably because they load way too fast for me to see any effect? Or it doesn't brother me? I'll try to implement it.--Kiba 01:29, 27 August 2007 (CEST)
- I implemented it. Does it work?--Kiba 01:41, 27 August 2007 (CEST)
- No :( Try CODE GETS STOPPED BY SPAM PROTECTION ILL SEND EMAIL and maybe put ALL of the code inside the div.. If that won't work, never mind.. --Qubodup 02:01, 27 August 2007 (CEST)
- Huh? Well..It is kinda hard for me to figure out your pet peeves. You could block the ads though.--Kiba 02:14, 27 August 2007 (CEST)
- Ok, I implemented the code from email. Did it work?--Kiba 03:29, 27 August 2007 (CEST)
- Cool, it *did* work! not the jump is only a few pixels, can you set it to 206px please? Did you try diffrent browsers to see the effect btw? --Qubodup 03:39, 27 August 2007 (CEST)
- I have to go to sleep. Got school tomorrow :( --Kiba 03:51, 27 August 2007 (CEST)
- Have fun! ;) - Qubodup 05:20, 27 August 2007 (CEST)
- Huh? The adds thing stopped working?! (they 'jump' again) --Qubodup 05:26, 27 August 2007 (CEST)
- I answered on my talk page, also plz do the fix I sent you via email (the current one isn't working) with 206px, as the ads are jumping again! --Qubodup 03:53, 28 August 2007 (CEST)
- PS: Read Talk:Main_Page plz --Qubodup 15:12, 28 August 2007 (CEST)

The current link is wrong, http://www.fsdaily.com/Community/Libregamewiki_-_The_Free_Software_Game_Wiki/ is the right one!
- Thanks--Kiba 21:10, 6 September 2007 (CEST)
Genres[edit]
I don't think they need a list. --Qubodup 15:55, 8 September 2007 (CEST) we should rather give some links to categories on the main page (the redesign...) Also plz replace all Free by Free/libre and set my logo as the page logo or use some empty image, this one is ugly --Qubodup 15:55, 8 September 2007 (CEST)
- But we will probably have some articles on these genre in the future?--Kiba 15:59, 8 September 2007 (CEST)
Game assets[edit]
I think you're pushing too hard with respect to the licensing of game assets. Game assets are not software. Releasing the game engine as free software and making money from game assets would make up for a reasonable free software business model. 80.233.255.7 12:19, 11 September 2007 (CEST)
- There are no excuses for proprietary media. Restrictions of who get to modify and distribute media does little benefit if any for one's game. While making money from game assets could possibly be a lucrative business model, nor it is necessary and the only way to make money. It is not a business model I would called a reasonable Free software business. In my opinion, a Free software business model do not relies on proprietary media or proprietary code to make money. It is also my opinion that Free(as in freedom, not price) benefit society better than non-free media, for economic reasons. I also promise my readers on my libertygaming blog that it will be a wiki filled with only Free games.--Kiba 18:36, 11 September 2007 (CEST)
