Teeworlds is a cartoon style 2D multiplayer platform shooter game (or third person shooter). The game provides an arena where players fight in various multiplayer modes (capture the flag, duel, team death match, race). The player is a Tee, a little ball with hands and feet.

History[edit]
The project started off as a puzzle game as Teepop, a clone of the Japanese game puyo puyo. It was released on August 2nd, 2004.[4]
Eventually, the game evolve into Teewars in 2007. The gameplay were similiar to Teeworld but have deathmatch as its only game mode.
Version 0.2.0 was the first public release for the Teeworld project.
They changed their name from Teewars to Teeworlds in version 0.4.0 for legal reason they can't divulge. This name change event happened on March 23th, 2008.[5].
See Teeworlds release history for a details of all the known releases made by the team.
Receptions[edit]
TiGdb gave the game 3.9 out of 5 stars based on 12 ratings as of October 21st, 2009.[6]
Licensing[edit]
Versions before 0.5.0 were distributed under a potentially non-free license which limited commercial distribution: “4. Neither this software nor any of its individual components, in original or modified versions, may be sold by itself.”. 0.5.0 and versions 0.5.1 do not have that condition.[2]
