irrlamb is a platform game, in which the player moves a ball through a 3D terrain to find all the orbs. It is being developed by Alan Witkowski[1] and is based on the Irrlicht Engine. irrlamb is licensed under the third version of the GPL.[2] The latest version of the game is 1.0.3, released on June 2nd, 2022.[3]
Gameplay[edit]
The aim in each irrlamb level is navigate a ball through the level to touch every glowing orb. The player can control the ball by rolling in 4 directions (left, right, up, down) and jumping. What makes the controls somewhat different from similar games is the fact that the ball can also be rolled in mid-air.
A main challenge in this game is in mastering the ball controls on difficult terrain.
The game starts in bright tutorial levels, after which the difficulty quickly raises. It continues in dark caves, on small to large skate parks and some insanely difficult challenge levels. The player has to master various different skills, like gaining enough momentum to climb up hills or loopings, balancing on a boat in an icy cave, balancing on balls across a lava pit or hopping from tree to tree and other challenges.
As of version 1.0.3, there are 18 “core” levels, 15 tutorial levels and 2 secret levels.
Other features[edit]
The game keeps track of the fastest time and saves replays automatically for every record-breaking run.
History[edit]
